How to check graphic card is spoiled or not?

sometimes i am getting big icons in my desktop.
when i run the game it's coming "c++ exception error
count not run in new video mode"

what does it mean?
i am using nvidia8400gs 512mb graphic card

Which is the game for which you are getting such error message?? are you able to run the game or not??

also try to update ure drivers for the graphic card it can hel you a lot. for that you can try using a program lik uniblue power suit or uniblue driver scanner.
