    Noise removal using audacity 1.3

I'm flattering digital, as well as reel to reel tapes of phonograph proceedings. by means of Audacity noise removal effect, I am copying and pasting 4 or 5, approx.six second of noise selections (situated between the tracks) to the come to an end of the recording, afterward choose the 4-5 segments of noise and utilize them to obtain noise profile, after that select the whole recording and implementation of removing noise. Is this the best way to use this effect? Sometimes it seems that the loudest of the segments that have chosen to use as my profile are ignored.

Try to get a sample of noise that is typical of noise to remove. If the sample of noise is too short, use the "repetition" effect to make it longer. Duration of 5 seconds is supposed to be sufficient for the noise sample. Audacity Noise elimination 1.3.13 is more frequently than not enhanced than Noise captivating away in Audacity 1.2.i hope this information is useful for you. If any further problem give pleasure to let me know the difficulty here. I will try to resolve your problem.

Try to find a "representative" sample of noise between the tracks and use that. Without knowing the details of how the effect of noise reduction captures the noise sample, I do not know what I would do if presented with more than a few dissimilar noise samples linked mutually. Or else, the workflow is accurate. The vinyl surface noise tends to have a "pink" or "brown" profile, with further energy at lower frequencies than superior frequencies. The effects of noise elimination built into Audacity you have problems with this profile. At least I'd recommend applying a high pass filter with a refresh rate of 20 Hz and a slope of 24 dB before capturing the noise profile and the application of noise removal.

Without knowing exactly what is "representative noise" I select 3-4 and use them together to the noise profile. I think nobody here knows any reason not to do it that way, so I guess I will just keep doing that. Regarding the use of high-pass filter, I suppose your suggestion still applies despite what I'm making FLAC files changed from original vinyl recordings reel to reel magnetic media in fact I'm now converting to digital (not vinyl).

If I have in actuality wanted to create my reel to reel tape, I have to keep the tools straightforward to make use of Audacity. Existence is too diminutive and not too a great deal high-quality music out there in the direction to spend contemporary years in the adaptation of my elderly things. It’s all times high-quality to be acquainted with the accurate method in the direction of accomplishing belongings correctly.

Well, the reel to reel can be out of the noise impact, and perhaps not. Even though existence is short, obtain a minute to create your outline range Plot of noise, size = 16384 and the frequency axis = Log. If present is no matter which below 20 Hz, we take for granted that all reel to reel tapes are and do not accomplish to bother with the high pass filter. I assume your problem is solved. If any further difficulty than do let me know here. I’m glad to solve your problem.
