RMVB file crash VLC 1.14

I use VLC 1.1.4 software in Windows 7 operating system. In this application software when I try to play an RMVB file, then this will be crashed immediately. Even it will be not worked for the fast forward, rewind or any other feature for the software. When I try to do this then the VLC player has stopped working. I don’t know it’s windows related problem or the software problem. Thanks in advance.
