Unable to install Framework3 after doing upgrade repos of BackTrack 5

Well I have installed BackTrack 5 on the computer of mine. Recently I have upgrade with framework3. However I got an issue when I trying to do installation on the computer of mine. I have searched on the Google to get the root cause of the problem but there was nothing which I can apply to get the requirement of mine. any help on this particular matter would be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

You told me that you have got an error message while doing installation so I recommend that you should simply post the entire error message which you are getting on the computer? Let me know about the hardware configuration of the computer? Is there any changes on the computer in terms of the hardware as well as software. So answer the above mentioned answer so that I can figure out the root cause of the problem.

Well looking at the situation I am suggesting following command which you should run on the computer of yours.

# find / -name msfconsole
/pentest/exploits/framework2/msfconsole
/usr/local/bin/msfconsole (broken sym link -> /opt/framework3/app/msfconsole)

You should copy and paste the above mentioned command on the terminal and see whether it is working or not

In order to fix the matter of issue I am suggesting following command which you can use to fix the matter of yours.

root@bt:~# apt-get update
root@bt:~# apt-get dist-upgrade
root@bt:~# service mysql start
root@bt:~# msfconsole

I recommend that you should simply downgrade the framework on the computer. I am suggesting following command which you should run on the computer.

apt-get --purge remove framework3

apt-get install framework3

once you have completed with the process you should simply restart the computer of yours. let me know whether it was useful to you or not.

I am suspecting that there is an issue with the already installed postgresql on the computer of yours. I recommend that you should simply remove the framework3 and postgres and then reboot the computer of yours. after doing the same you should redownload the framework3-source and compile and install the same. If still there is no change in the situation then I recommend that you should contact the developer and look for more help from them.
