I would really appreciate any help on this, ive read similar posts but my netbook (compaq) i dont think offers a repair on the f8 boot option? I have tried to boot in safe mode makes no difference i cannot get past the black screen which has an error message come up Application Error 0xc0000135, you can click this off, but the screen stays black and nothing, this all started from me on the internet and a fake anti virus thing popped up scanning my PC i turned the laptop off and back on and got this? Please help i really rely on my netbook and cannot afford a new one.

I have heard of a software which finds what version of .Net is installed in your pc/laptop. You can download that same software called .Net version check free from here. The file is in zip format. Unzip it. After unzipping the .net versioncheck file, open the folder. double click or run the versioncheck. Just double click on it and click ok, it will automatically fix the application error issue that you are facing.
