I also come across this type of update on my computer and received this kind error occasionally so I usually use to check the logs in my pc as well as it appears like the Software protection procedure on my computer is not responding well inside the computer. And hence the updates fail to install on the computer. Software protection guide is not capable to repair so many files for the update. So I think that you must try to perform a Repair installation on your computer which is also called InPlace Upgrade inside the computer. This procedure will automatically upgrade the file according to the desire you needed.

I think that you will require to start-in as administrator inside your windows after login you will require to run the Windows Explorer in addition that to go to the folder called as "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" along with copy the document known as the "CBS.log" to your document folder (or else you can't open that document form the document folder) there is an alternative to open it with notepad. Now search for errors. Which errors do you notice inside that Notepad document which showing you the error? If you are unconfident which are desire error you noticed then you will need to upload the entire CBS file in inside your document file in order to solve your errors. It may help you out in order to solve to your errors.
