Windows 7: Unable to delete the file which having long name

I am using Windows 7 x64 on my computer. I copy pasted the file from the one of the backup file. Later I have tried to erase the Temporary Internet Files folder. It prompts that The file name(s) would be too long for the destination folder. You can shorten the file name and try again, or try a location that has a shorter path. When I have search on this matter I have found that there are set of files which were having very long names. Well tell me how I can get rid of this file. Any suggestion will be highly appreciate.

Well I was having the same problem and I tried the following solution which I was going to write over here. Well you have to run the command prompt from your computer. Well you have to click on start button and go to search box and type CMD and press enter. You have to short the name of the files and list them. Now use those short names of the files to delete the files from your computer. I hope it will help you to solve the matter.

Looking at your situation I think you should run Disk Clean Up to solve the matter. You can use the following steps to run Disk clean up.

1. Click on Start button and go to All Programs.
2. Now go to Accessories from the All Programs.
3. Now enter into System tools and choose Disk Cleanup.

Well if it is not working then you can run chkdsk to solve the matter.

I think you can use some third party application in this situation. I think this another solution to solve the matter. Well you can download FileASSASSIN v1.06 from the internet. Well it’s free software so don’t worry about it. It helps to delete the file forcefully which is locked in your system. I am hoping that this software application will help you to solve the matter.
