Opera is not getting installed in the linux mint as well as in ubuntu

I have a computer at my place in which I want to install a opera browser. My computer has a linux mint operating system. Also I have a notebook which has the ubuntu 10 operating system. I have noticed that on installing opera in both of them i.e. mint as well as the ubuntu it is giving me a error. I cannot explain you the error hence I am giving you what it is exactly showed in the screen.
On both I got following error when installing or trying to remove opera:

I have tried doing some research from my side but it has not helped me much. So I was expecting I can get some help from you all. So if you all have any solution then do let me know.

Well looking at the complicated error it seems that you might be using the software designed for the ubuntu in the mint. That’s why it is giving you such an error. Try downloading a different software manager for the mint and use it differently. Software manager are different for the different operating systems and you cannot use it anyhow. So try installing a different software center and use it accordingly. Hope this solution works for you.

Let me tell you I have downloaded a separate software center for the Linux mint as well and still it does not give me any required solution. I downloaded the deb version for mint from the opera site but still could not find any desired result. It is giving me the same error. So your suggestion did not help me. So any other solution that will help me out with such problem then do let me know as early as possible.

I have got a unique solution for you all this particular solution worked for me and I hope it will work for you all to. First what you have to do is delete the the below listed files that i am providing you now.
First type

sudo dpkg –configure -a
/var/lib/dpkg/info/"unwanted-package-name".postrm
/var/lib/dpkg/info/"unwanted-package-name".list
// Well those are the unwanted packages. Ensure that you keep a back up of such type of files. After that you have to do some codings in the terminal. Do type the following codes In the terminal
sudo apt-get clean all
sudo apt-get update  //run it twice
sudo apt-get upgrade

After doing this coding you will get your problem resolved. So do try and let me know if it works or not.

Hey thanks a lot for the solution. Let me tell you that a particular solution really worked out for me. I don’t know how it happened? My opera got installed in the ubuntu perfectly. Well I have not tried this with the mint operating system. I will try it for that also later. I was thinking to switch to the different browser but when I got this solution I decided to give it a try and surprisingly it worked. Thanks a lot for the efforts that you have put in to solve my issue.
