How to Modify the Default Recorded TV Directory?

Hello friends, I cannot remove the default Recorded TV entry in media center and I wish to modify to an additional directory on a different drive. How do I do this? Is there any method to modify the default directory for Media Center to store up the recorded TV into a dissimilar directory? Is there any kind of settings to perform it on Media Center? Please help.

Have you tried the "in-MC" (read: 'proper') method so far? In the Tasks option, click on to the Settings menu, in that have a click on to the Recorder alternative and then now to the Recorder Storage. At this point you can modify the recording location. IIRC, to shift it, you do want to have a folder in-place already (formed in Explorer) on the second drive. Try this and check whether it helps you out.

You can either do it manually with the help of the Registry Editor: HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Service\Recording. Modify the significances intended for RecordPath, LastRecordPath, as well as WatchedFolders to reproduce your preferred recording position, and then restart your system. Caution: mistaken editing of the Windows Registry is able to include far-reaching and terrible consequences, probably resulting in an unstable and/or unbootable computer. carry on at your individual risk. Another thing to note down at this point, regarding the RecordPath: it should exist on a local drive. Recording to a network position is not sustained, and the Receiver service will not permit it.

Nevertheless, if the device in query hasn't been run on the way to finishing point through TV Setup, not the entire of the Reg keys will survive (IIRC) - if you haven't been through TV Setup, then the RecordPath and LastRecordPath keys most likely won't be present (as they don't up till now have a make use of it); the WatchedFolders key might also not survive (another time, not very much of make use of it, as this purpose be capable of be carbon copy in Libraries.)

What you do is Start the Media Center Window, in that Go to the Settings, from the settings have a click on TV file, then to the Recorder, after that click to the Recorder Storage, in that you should have to modify the drive letter. At this moment Media Center will generate a Recorded TV directory in the root of the drive you choose. Hope it will assist you to get the success in it.
