Mac Word 2008 docs not compatible with Word 2007

I just want to know what the issue here is with the Word 2008 that I have on the Mac system of mine. When I try to open Microsoft Office Word 2007 document that contains Equation with Word 2008 that is on Mac I have seen that it just not gets open in the proper manner. I have noticed that all the equations just get converted into some nonsense type of symbols and I really want to get this thing working for me as I have some sort of project to finish with this day. Please help.

Let me tell you clearly that this is not an issue and also let me tell you that there is no way by which you can have this thing working in your case as well. I had also got a chance and when I tried doing the same here I was prompted with a dialog box that contained instructions and was saying that the equations of Word 2007 are not at all supported in Word 2008. In addition to that it also told that the data will not be lost and you will have them if you will try to open them using Word 2007.

Yes let me also tell that there is an issue with the Word 2007 and when you try to open the same on the Word 2008. The thing is the Equations really cannot be shared between Word 2007 and Word 2008 and I have not yet seen any kind of bridge that can fill the gap here. Actually the Word 2007 uses some different sort of mechanism in order to make and create the equations and hence I think that here you are finding difficulty with the opening of the documents here.

Ok there is way by which you can have the equation to be visible here but let me tell you that I am not that sure about this. So I would like you to make the copy of the document and then go with the thing that I am suggesting here and see if you can have the conversion possible here. If you can get SP2 for Word 2007 then let me tell you that you can have the equations to be displayed on the Word 2008 as an image and let me tell you that this will be really a way to get the solution. But please see; you have the backup of the document so that if something goes wrong you may not loose the data here. Please try this and let me get notified if you were successful in getting the solution for the case of yours.

Thanks a lot for the suggestions that you have made here and I will see if at all I can have this working in my case here. Will try to dig out the things that you have suggested here and let me tell that I will for sure try this here. But is there anything in extra that you all would like me to try for as if it really did not go in the way that I needed then I will be happy to have the same here. Please instruct me what I can do in extra here.
