I am in fact capturing a video from a HD camera that is 1600x1200 resolutions and storing it in a MP4 container. The trouble is WMP12 cannot play the video. On the other hand if I record the video in 1920x1080 resolution, WMP plays the video devoid of a trouble. The similar 1600x1200 file can be played by means of VLC. I also have the same issue. The video codec is an H264 format. The error message that I am receiving is as follows:
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec which was utilized to squeeze the file." I have the most recent graphics card driver that is NVIDIA 9500GT. I don’t have any trouble while playing the h264 video with resolution 1920x1080.
