Microsoft Visio 2003, 2007, 2010 crashes

I am working on the MS Office Enterprise 2007 and I was not having even a single problem on this server until I installed the Visio 2007 on it. Actually Visio 2007 crashes so often on this machine that it has became annoying to use this software on it. I changed it by upgrading to the 2010 version. Guess what, Even this new version was crashing on my machine. I thought may be an oldest version will start working but even that was having the same behavior. Most of the time Visio gets crashed when I try to Copy/Paste on it. I am running 64 bit Windows 7 ultimate on my this machine which is IBM T61.

As you are getting the same response from all the versions of the MS Visio which made me thinking that there should not be anything wrong with the Visio as it could at least show you some error if there is anything incompatible on your machine or with the Visio. I think there is something else which might be playing with the Visio on your machine. I suggest you to scan your machine by using any good antivirus software and remove all the detected viruses on your machine. It might be causing due to the virus infecting your machine.

Every windows operating system has one boot mode called as Safe Mode which helps a lot in such situations. I recommend you to boot your IBM machine in the Safe Mode which might not show any crashing problem while using any version of Visio. You have reboot your windows machine and then keep on pressing the F8 key which will take you to the Windows booting options where you have to select for the Safe Mode with or without Networking. Once you have booted in the safe mode then check copy pasting in the Visio, this time it might show bit different behavior.

This kind of problems might be appearing due to some plug ins which you may have installed on your machine. Actually if there would be any problem with the plug in problem then it affects the whole program and hence either it gets crashed or it starts lagging inbetween the functioning. I suggest you to disable all the plug ins which you might have enabled with the Visio. Once you have disabled all the plug ins then restart the program and then check the behavior.
