    VLC 1.1.5 files association problem

Hello friends I have just updated my VLC 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 on my system yesterday from the internet and I had successfully installed the software without any problem on my system that is having Windows 7 operating system on it. During the installation I had unchecked all the files associations and decided to do it after the installation is complete. However, latter when I decide to check some of the applications and the click on the apply button, my VLC Player got freeze and I was not able to do any thing except to turn off the computer directly from the main plug. On restating I again did the same thing but unfortunately the same error showed up again. Can some one help me to know what this problem about and what can be done to overcome this problem.

Hey why don't you again download the software form the web and again do the installation process, I think that your VLC player has crashed and needed to be changed. Also, this time around you select the files association of the software at the very instant of the installation because it is recommended that the file association to always be done to get the software the idea of what exactly you want the software to perform for you.

Hey can you give me the detail of the error that you are currently getting with the software when you are trying to check the association files for the software. You should only select those files that you know that would be compatible with the VLC player. Selecting any other files would surely make the player go out of control and will make the VLC mot respond to the files that you request.

Re: VLC 1.1.5 files association problem

Hey I think that the only solution would be to reinstall the new software as i think that this version might got defected due to some reason. Also, I would want to tell you that you should first remove all the previous version VLC player files and you can even use the Windows Utility to remove the files of the software. Even if there are two or more files of the same software it might effect the Player in some or the other way.

Hey I have got the solution, the VLC player comes with the support to run all the video files that you want to specially run on them. So even if you don’t select the association and still go on to run and install the software you will surely be able to run the videos without facing any kind of problem. I also have installed the software using this way and had no problems in running this.
