Cannot install Outlook Social Connector (KB983403) ?

I have a desktop system , I use windows 7 operating system and have recently installed the new Microsoft Office 2010 2 days back , as far as the internal configuration , my system has quad core processor form intel and 500GB of internal hard drive. However after installing MS Office I wanted to install Microsoft Outlook Social Connector (KB983403), but the installation failed in between , please help me in fixing this issue if you can .

Well after you install Office please make sure that the add in option is selected or checked.Just follow my instructions. Uninstall everything which has anything to fo with Outlook 2010.Then please install the 64 bit outlook or try to update it using the Facebook installer. But I think if you installed it through the DVD , it is the 32 bit version of Outlook connector, but you must have installed the 64 bit version. This will surely fix your issue.

You have not mentioned the configuration of your system in detail, I think the insufficient system requirement is obstructing you to install the outlook social connector to install. To install it your system must posses windows xp professional, but you have windows 7 ,so operating system is not the issue and the the social connector must be of 64 but edition , which is mentioned already and Windows Installer 3.1 or greater version of windows installer. So check your system configuration and then post back.

I will instruct you how to install it in simpler terms.
If you have Microsoft Outlook Social Connector 2010, 64-bit Edition, do one of the following:

• Use Microsoft Update (recommended). Microsoft Update consolidates updates provided by Windows Update and Office Update into one location and enables you to choose automatic delivery and installation of high-priority updates.
• Install Update for Outlook Social Connector (KB983403), 64-bit Edition. To do this, follow these steps:
• Download one of the two .exe files by using the links at the bottom of the page, and then save the file to your hard disk drive.
• It is recommended that you quit any programs you are running.
  
• In Windows Explorer, double-click the .exe file that you saved to your hard disk drive, and follow the instructions on the screen.
