HTML5 is the next main revision of the HTML standard. HTML5 is a typical for structuring and presenting content on the World Wide Web. The new standard add in features like video playback and drag-and-drop that have been previously dependent on third-party browser plug-ins such as Adobe Flash and Microsoft Silver-light. HTML5 launch a number of latest fundamentals and attributes that reproduce typical usage on modern websites.

HTML5 has introduced several new attributes to various elements that were already part of HTML4. HTML5 also makes all event handler attributes from HTML4, which take the form onevent-name, global attributes and adds several new event handler attributes for new events it defines. E.g. the play event which is used by the API for the media elements. HTML5 introduces a number of APIs that help in creating Web applications.

HTML5 will be the new standard for HTML, XHTML, and the HTML DOM. HTML5 is still a work in progress. However, most modern browsers have some HTML5 support. The latest versions of Safari, Chrome, Firefox, and Opera support some HTML5 features. Internet Explorer 9 will support some HTML5 features.

There are Some of the most attractive new features in HTML5:
    • The video and audio elements for media playback
    • Better support for local offline storage
    • The canvas element for drawing
    • New content specific elements, like article, footer, header, nav, section
    • New form controls, like calendar, date, time, email, url, search
