Can anyone guide me how to convert DVD9 to DVD5

My one of friend have a dual layer DVD-9 DVD. And i want a data from dual layer DVD-9 DVD but I don't have dual-layerd discs. I have a single layer DVD and I would like to take backup in it. I have only DVD 5 discs. How Can i convert it?Is there is a software to convert it? So if anyone have any idea about it then please help me as soon as possible.

I just know how to convert the DVD to videos for playback, but do not know how to make DVD9 to DVD 5
if only for convert DVDs, there are some great tools can do this, like handbreak and iFunia DVD ripper Pro~~~

DVD95 is a GNOME application to convert DVD9 to DVD5. DVD95 is free and open-source software licensed under the terms of the GNU GPL v2. DVD95 Interface is pretty simple to use. Shrinking factor may be computed for best results. DVD95 is also use to convert DVD to file tree or iso file. DVD95 support simple profiles to encode.
