| Re: Problem in installing skype
I have also faced this and regarding this I have one solution but I am not very much sure whether it will going to help in your case or not. But in this I think once you try to remove the skype. But remember one thing is you have to uninstall this by using the aptitude and the purge option. After doing this then try to aptitude install skype and see if that works. In some of the cases aptitude are able to deal with the issues that apt can't. I make use of it in cases like this and it typically solves my trouble. |

Here I want to tell you something related to your issue actually all the libraries for "another processor” are supposed that not to be in a system path, so for this you have to check this path and after checking this if you get the issue fixed then just reply over here so that I come to know that this solution is working. So the path is usr > local > arm > or /usr > lolocal > Qt4 <arch> or may be opt > <arch>. So you just check this. |

Like others I am also going through the same situation and regarding this I have searched a lot but not able to get the perfect solution for this. The previos reply which is given here I have tried that also. Actually it is not from a different processor. It is from x86 similar processor. But it is from dissimilar computer. I compiled the code in Intel dual core and installed Atom processor Netbook. But both are x86 processor only. |

Hey have you checked your system. Actually here I want to say that make sure your system and see if it want a 32 bit package or a 64 bit package and then according to that download the correct architecture for your machine, And when you open it, it will be installed according to your command which is given by you, as I am able to observe looks like you downloaded a 64 bit package when your pc is a 32 bit system. |

I am agree with the previous post. May be you are installing it on to the different system. As a matter of fact I think you should go to the site which link I have given below. And from there you just download either a 32 bit or 64 bit skype for Linux depending on your PC's and after this you just install them, I hope this helps http://skype.in/intl/en-us/get-skype...post-download/ |
