angry copy & paste from notepad to any folder in win 7

I just got "lenovo" lap top. I copied and pasted text from the web ( trough Firefox) into notepad. Created folder for it, selected text in note pad ( same as I always did in win xp) and tried to paste it in open folder that I created..but paste in the menu is shaded.Checked Google, couldn't find answer (and I tried many different ways of posting the question. IT is driving me nuts I hope that somebody will know answer to this problem

    Hi srlebroz,

Are you saying that you are trying to copy paste text to folder? Or are you trying to copy/move the notepad to the new folder that you have created? Try downloading a new replacement for it that is called Notepad++ from google and then try to copy text into Notepad++ and then move it to the desired folder.

Re: copy & paste from notepad to any folder in win 7

    Hi James
In win xp, I was able to copy&paste text from word pad/notepad to a new created folder ( for instance, name of the new purchased software with codes from my e-mail. First I paste&copy it to notepad/word pad from the e-mail & then open new created folder on the desktop and copy&paste from notepad). I was thinking that the same is possible in win 7. I will try "notepad++" it looks a bit complicated ( for me ) I had something "simple" in mind. Thank you for your answer
