Jump List is a latest characteristic in Microsoft Windows 7 that is intended to make it easier to find what you want and carry out common tasks connected with an application. It appears on the Start menu as well as on the Taskbar when you right-click on an icon. The organization provides two special categories: Recent and Frequent. The "Recent" group may not wait long for Windows Explorer because it depends on your usage performance over time.
    1. Select Start menu and then open Control Panel.
    2. Then Double click on the "Taskbar and Start Menu" symbol.
    3. Then control to Start Menu and clear the "Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar" option, and then select OK.
    4. Go to "Taskbar and Start Menu" again and choose the "Store and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar" selection back.
    5. Then select OK and exit.

If you would like to amend the figure of recent items that are displayed in the jump lists in the Windows 7 taskbar. Jump lists are little background menus for taskbar things that can show all kinds of information and relations with the recently opened items. Windows 7 displays (up to) ten recent items in jump lists. The number for recent items can be changed easily. Steps to be followed are:
    1. Right click on the Windows Orb and then select Properties from the menu.
    2. Then click on the customize button which is at the right upper corner. It opens the menu by which recent items setting can be changed.
    3. Then access “Number of recent items to be showed in Jump Lists” controls the quantity of items that are displayed in the jump lists. It can be increased or decreased according to the user.
    4. Then clicking on the OK button will save the changes.

Jump lists also accumulate current history. If you’re using a shared computer or confidentiality is a concern, you might want to bind what get’s store and scheduled in your recent history. If this is so then just follow the simple steps by which you can administer your Jump List history data. Method 1: To erase individual items. First open the jump list for the preferred application. Then right click on any Recent or Frequent item and then select Remove from this list. Method2: To erase all the items .Right click on the taskbar and then select properties. A dialog box will appear in that click the start menu tab, uncheck the box for and display recently opened items in the Start menu and the taskbar. When you click apply all the recent history will be erased.
