How can i hide my friends list in Windows Live

I am using windows live on my desktop computer for chatting with friends and for other work also, I have long friend list in my account. I just wanted to know that can I hide my friend list from others? Actually I don’t want to show all the friends to other because of personal reasons. So if anyone knows how to do this setting in my account then please tell me. Any suggestion will appreciate, thank in advance.

Yes, you can hide the friend list from others for that you just have to make some setting in your privacy of windows live account. First go to the settings then in the privacy you can find advanced settings at the bottom of the window, then select the basic information and friend and choose the friends by dragging it to the just me. After this entire settings click on the apply button and then OK.

Thanks for your suggestion, i also wanted to hide my friend list from other peoples. but now i am getting another problem that is when i receive any message from my friends with any icons, that message i can see but icon with it does appears, i have check it out on the different machine then it appears. but i cannot see it on my machine. Please tell me setting for this.

This same thing happened with me and then i did some settings for this to fix this problem. here i have given you some steps to fix this issues.

1. First go to the options.
2. At the left side there are some option such as personal, layout, sign in and messages.
3. Choose messages and uncheck the box at the top of the message window.
4. At the end click on the apply button and then tap the OK button to close the window.
