Re: Details of chkdsk command
I have some details of chkdsk which may be helpful for you.The chkdsk is a recovery console command used to ensure a particular disk and fix or recover data on the drive if needed. Chkdsk also marks any damaged or not working sectors on the hard drive or disk as bad and recovers any information still intact. A chkdsk command is also available from the command prompt. Chkdsk is a utility that checks the computer's hard drives status for any cross-linked or any extra errors with the hard disk drive.
MS-DOS versions 2.x - 4.x used chkdsk.com.
MS-DOS versions 5.x and beyond used chkdsk.exe.
