Product key doesn’t work for Microsoft office home student 2010?

I had purchased a new Dell laptop from an Arihant electrical store and I had also purchased the student office package. But my new Microsoft office home student 2010 product key is not working. When I open Microsoft word it keeps asking for a product key and when I enter the product key it says it’s incorrect. It is very frustrating.

If you are inflowing the product key taken from the Certificate of Authenticity which is at the bottom of the computer, then you are trying to activate Office using a Windows product key. This will not work. If you are having Microsoft Office home student 2010 then enter the product key for office 2010 which is taken from the yellow-orange Proof of License label that is found inside the trade parcel. You can buy Office 2007, Office 2010 Free http://office2010.microsoft.com/en-u...95.aspx?CTT=97

According to me the installed MS office might be an edition that does not match the edition your Office Product Key card. For example if you have installed office that is Office Home and Student 2010, and you are trying to activate it as an uninterrupted permit with a product key card (PKC) for Office Home and Business 2010, definitely it will not work. So be careful that the installed Office exactly matches the edition of your product key card. Hope so this will solve your problem.

The office you have installed may be from a different "sales channel" than the product key card for Office Home and Student 2010. Product Key Cards are proposed to activate uninterrupted licenses of OEM installations of Office. It is likely that the Office installed on your computer is a retail trial of Office Home and Student 2010. If this is so, then you need to uninstall the retail trial of Office H&S 2010, and then restart PC twice, then download and install an OEM installation of Office Home and Student 2010. You can download it from the official site of Microsoft. Once you download and install it you should be able to activate the perpetual license for Office H&S 2010 with your Product Key Card.
