It has happened to me a few times now that when I start my CP (Windows 7, 64 bit) that I get the message: "ERROR unable to start the Bluetooth stack service" and hence I'm unable to ues my Bluetooth device to sync my mobile phone.

What gives and what can I do to permanently install my device.

Do you have bluesoleil installed on your System ? If not, than install it. And if yes than first do a complete uninstall and than reinstall the same again. Am too using this on one of my Windows 7 32 bit system from a year and its working fine. Do reply the result.

    Re: Bluetooth stack service

I had the same problem couple of weeks ago and I talked to the microsoft support about it.

They said you may try to uninstall the Bluetooth drivers from the device manager completely and try to download the latest drivers for Bluetooth device and install it and check if it helps you fix the issue.

While uninstalling the bluetooth device from the device manager make sure you follow the steps below:

    1. Click on Start.
    2. Access Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager.
    3. Open Device Manager and Check for the Bluetooth device.
    4. Select the Bluetooth device and uninstall the device.

While uninstalling the device, make sure you place a check mark against "Delete the driver software for this device".

Later reinstall the Bluetooth device drivers and check.

I follow each steps and now I don't have any problems using it.

    Hi ericmills48
I'll try your suggestion as I don't want to have to pay for the "bluesoleil" (sorry Happy To Help) especially when it is something that should worj in the first place.
Will advice how it pans out.

Unistalled the old drivers and dowloaded the new one from Broadcom. The problem now is that I get the message "The program cannot upgrade your software. Please contact the manufacturer of your bluetooth device for support" .....now what?

Most probably this error occurs when the driver is not compatible with the system. Well, theres still nothing to worry. Just visit the following page and download the required drivers, it should work: http://www.broadcom.com/support/bluetooth/update.php
