    Before you import the mail items, configure Outlook Express so that it is not the default Simple MAPI client. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Restart your computer and then start Outlook Express.
    2. In the menu Tools, click Options.
    3. Tab connection, click Edit to open the dialog Internet Properties.
    4. Tab Programs, click on an email application other than Outlook Express in the list Email. Click Apply, then OK.
    5. Click OK to close the dialog box options.
    6. Exit Outlook Express and then restart Outlook Express.

    With Outlook 2007, the import is done directly by the import tool. (If both are on the same PC), I did in Outlook:
    * Double click on Contacts
    * File
    * Import and export
    * Import messages and Internet Addresses
    * Next
    * Select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Windows Mail
    * Uncheck Import Mail
    * For duplicates, I chose Do not import duplicates
    * Click on Finish.

    Once the export is complete and you're ready to import your e-mail accounts, messages and address book to Windows Mail to launch it. IMPORTANT: During the import process we recommend that you open Windows Mail as administrator.Go to the menu Tools > Options. Go to the tab Messaging and click on the button Data Files. A small window will open and you will see where Outlook Express stores all your emails. Then copy the path of this place, and access them from Windows Explorer. Then copy that file contains your backup directory where you store.
