    Difference Between 96khz & 192khz

I have goal to become a sound engineer but that is too long go for now but for a time being i would like to know a bit about the sound. I have read Khz behind many tracks which seems to be attractive for me this time. So can anybody tell me what is this KHz or the difference between the 96khz & 192khz which would be even better for me.

Resolution Audio Compact Disc is limited to a word length of 16 bits to 44100 and extracts the signal of the original music. Technologies such as HDCD are able to combine a resolution of 20 -bit CD format , but the maximum performance possible with this format. The DVD Audio is a universal and flexible production studios . In a two-channel DVD-Audio supports many opportunities for resolution of the signal, including three different levels of quantification and six sampling . It is possible to obtain samples of 24 bits and a sampling frequency of 192 kHz , enough to ensure complete satisfaction of the most demanding audiophile.

Two features can judge the quality of sound reproduced from a digital signal , the frequency of sampling and quantization. The sampling frequency of DVD- Audio is 4 times greater than that of CD -Audio (192 kHz 44 kHz cons ) . As for quantification, she spends 16 to 24 bits. DVD-Audio format offers a more detailed and more often repeated , resulting in much higher quality than what you've heard before.

The signal to pulse code modulation ( PCM ) 24-bit linear sampled at 192 kHz or 96 kHz exhibits a transient response combined with a warning clear reproduction of the instruments high in frequency ( like cymbals) and a rich timbre and Authentic in the midrange and bass. The fast passages at high frequencies are characterized by a net cut of each note while the stereo imaging formed a specific soundscape , a large scale and unwavering strength .

LPCM (Linear PCM ) is mandatory , with up to 6 channels of sampled 48, 96 or 192 kHz (and 44.1 / 88.2 / 176.4 kHz ) and a bit depth of 16/20 / 24 bits. This theoretically allows a frequency response up to 96 kHz with a dynamic range of 144 dB. Multichannel LPCM will " downmix "( converted) by the reader, so that at 192 and 176.6 kHz only two channels available . The maximum throughput is 9.6 Mbps. Increase sample frequency and resolution of work is good. But it brings two major problems:
    • The amount of information necessary to record the information is far more important.
    • The flow of this information is also greater.

Lossless compression has been integrated : the MLP (Meridian Lossless Packing) Meridian , already licensed to Dolby. MLP removes redundancy from the signal to obtain a compression ratio of about 2:1 while allowing the PCM signal to be completely recreated by the MLP decoder (required in all DVD - Audio). MLP allows playing time of about 75 to 135 minutes of his 6-channel 96kHz/24-bit on a layer , and 120 to 140 minutes in two -channel 192 kHz/24 bits.

    Re: Difference Between 96khz & 192khz

The MLP does not appear to pose problems of impaired quality of audio signals. The MLP is necessary to match the speed of DVD specifications , in configurations of 5.0 , 5.1 and 6 channels for frequencies 96/24, 96/20 , 88/24 and 88/20 . The MLP is necessary in other cases that the program meets the 74-minute DVD 's specifications .
    Available terms are then:
    - In 96kHz/24bits : 6.0 encoded program : 89 min
    - In 96kHz/24bits : 5.1 encoded program : 106 min
    - In 96kHz/24bits : 5.1 program encoded and stereo : 74 min
    - 96kHz/24bits in stereo : 230 min
    - 192KHz/24bit stereo : 125 min .
