    VLC 1.0.3 doesnt save playlist in Ubuntu 9.10

    I have two pc Windows xp sp2 and Ubuntu. On the show I have all my videos and audio i want to access via the network. For this I use once in your explorer find VLC to open a file ( without being codec). So far so good but I am forced to throw them one by one my files and it starts to fill ... Is there a way to create a playlist with files on the network ? For info by opening the playlist editor drag and drop file system does not work and I do not see any network in the tree. Can anybody solve my issue ?

    Open VLC , then click on the menu : Settings - Preferences - Input / Codecs - - Demultiplexers RTP / RTSP ", check " Advanced Options " ( bottom right ), then put " 8080 " in the " Client Port ". You need to change the settings of your routeur (in your management console Freebox) as follows: In the " IP Freeplayer " put the IP address of your PC ( type 192.168.0 ...).Open VLC then Settings ⇒ Preferences ⇒ Playlist Put in the " Flux by default ".

    You need to create the directory "~ / .local / share / applications "if there is not:

    mkdir ~ / .local / share / applications

    Then create the file with the following command in a terminal :

    gedit ~ / .local / share / applications / vlc- playlist.desktop

    Copy this text and save the file :

    [Desktop Entry ]
    Encoding = UTF- 8
    Version = 1.0
    Type = Application
    Exec = vlc - playlist - enqueue % f
    Name = Add to playlist VLC
    Comment = Add to playlist for VLC
    NoDisplay = true
    Icon = vlc

    Do you use KDE or Gnome , there may be a conflict between ALSA and the module of KDE / Gnome . I do not use KDE so I do not talk about it. For Gnome, you can activr a specific option " shunts " esd if not used . A change in the file / etc / esound / esd.conf :

    Code:
    Select All
        [ esd ]
        auto_spawn = 1
        spawn_options =- terminate- nobeeps- as 2-d default
        spawn_wait_ms = 100
        # default options are Used in spawned and non- spawned mode
        default_opts =

    Check the solution :
    * Start the VLC Media Player, freshly installed.
    * As indicated on the first image below , click on the menu Media, Service Discovery then Freebox TV Channels.
    * Click View then Playlist.
    * Window Playlist appears , listing the Freebox TV channels . Choose the channel you want to view by double clicking it .
    * Window VLC Media Player opens, giving access to the selected channel.
