    Robocopy - Copying Permissions

Hi everyone, I've just started looking into Robocopy for our Company (Im amazed I haven't seen it before!)

My aim was, every night, to copy a 'SharedDocs' folder (and all subfolders) from one server to another. In the event that server one fails I can point everyone to server2 with (fairly) up-to-date files

Problem I am seeing is that it's not copying the folder permissions as I expect them to.

Both servers have Administrator accounts with the same password. If I check the security in server1, 'Administrator' is there with full access to everything but when i remote desktop to server2 and check the permissions there are entries for 'Everyone' and then 2 users beginning with S-15-21...

I guess that its because Administrator on server1 is not recognised on server2 so it throws up this S-15...

Can anyone advise of a way around this please?

    Thanks
    John

I am not sure about RoboCopy. I know that SecureCopy tool has some options for this. Some weeks ago we have used it for migrate data from our server to new one.

Either ways, you can also use SecureCopy that has way more features, is less buggy and it costs a fraction of what SecureCopy costs. You may wanna give it try: http://www.Sys-Manage.com

Hi, thanks very much for the reply. I'll give that a go.
