The error come because the setup is not able to write the value of imccphr.exe. It is located in Windows Registry. The location of the same is DisableExceptionChainValidation to the registry key \Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\currentVersion\image File Execution Options. You have to first search for imccphr.exe and assign full permission for the same. This is due to permission settings.

The best solution for you can be removing Microsoft Office 2007 first. Go to Start > Control Panel > Add remove program. Then uninstall Office 2007 completely. After that only run the fresh setup of the same. Once done reboot your system and then launch Word. If still the error comes then download the file again. The setup might be corrupted.

I think you are using pirated version of Microsoft Office 2007. Due to which you are getting this error. It is recommended that you must run fresh installation instead of upgrading your Office application. So for that remove the old application completely. Then run fresh setup of Office 2010. You have to clean your registry for that.

I was using Trail version of Microsoft Office Home Student Edition. I had got the setup for this from official site. I am directly upgrading Microsoft Office 2010 on this but I am also facing the same error. There is not fix provided on the official site. Does anyone has any exact solution for this. Whenever I run the setup I get this error.

You have to first remove all the old entries of previously installed Office application. For that go in Control Panel > Add-Remove Programs and look for Microsoft Office. Uninstall it and then download Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. You can download this from official site. Then run it will scan and remove old entries. Then run fresh setup.

I am able to successfully install that. And it is working well now. I am using a Windows XP system. What happen here I have Norton Internet Security. When you run the setup the antivirus and firewall block. So for sometime disable your antivirus and firewall and then run the setup again. It will work.
