Unable to install Windows Home Server Connector

I installed my server two weeks ago , everything was in the best , but recently, I can not access it Windows Home Server Connector. The messages displayed are : "Unable to connect to WHS the association between your computer and WHS is damaged " then " Looking for your home server "and no detection . I tried to uninstall windows home server connector but end-of- message : " Fatal error during installation ". Moreover, a ping to the server address is correct. What should I do ?

WHS is designed only for very small structures without a domain or Active Directory. Once you begin to have more than 10 machines to administer , it is advisable to switch to a Windows server . You have version SBS ( Small business Server) that does not have forest or domain , but which allows you to benefit from Exchange and SQL server. If you have the Windows 2008 R2 Standard , which enables you to add as many client machines as you want (provided you have the licensing course.

As a software platform , Windows Home Server software provides partners with incredible opportunities to develop innovative products that meet the needs of the digital home . Many third party applications should be created ( including for the protection against malware and viruses , the media sharing , security and home automation ).

Re: Unable to install Windows Home Server Connector

Once the server is operational , it is recommended to run on every PC household the CD called " WHS Connector ". This installs and configures the automatic safeguard mechanism on the server PC . If a wired network will not pose any particular problems, this may be different in a wireless network , which flows are much less important . This application , called Windows Home Server Connector ( WHSC ) will not install on Windows XP ( with . NET Framework 2.0 ) or Windows Vista ( Starter excluded ) .

Access to shared resources can obviously be done using a machine connected to same LAN as the server, but may also from an outside network . To access shared resources , specifically the shared files, you need to know the IP address ( or name) of the server on the LAN (if the application is not installed WHSC ) or select Shared folders ( shared folders ) in the menu icon stuck in the taskbar . It remains to authenticate and voila . Again, it is relatively simple. Note that as the system performs periodic backups of files , multiple versions of files and folders are available.

You then install the " client " on your job target . This one is already in the shares on your server, in "\ Software \ Home Server Connector Software \ Setup.exe" . Follow the normal installation , and when prompted enter the password you entered during the first restart the Home Server. Normally everything goes well and you 're connected. In case of problems at this stage check the configuration of your firewall server, the Beta 2 was not yet finalized on this and the firewall exceptions missing . From there you get a login window to the administration console of Windows Home Server . In the final version of WHS will be sold on OEM machines with no display or keyboard is at this point you probably start with a default user configured.
