Install .net framework 1.1 in Windows 7 64 bit

I am using 64 it version of the Windows 7 operating system and i want to install the .NET Framework on this system which i am not able to do. Actually i am trying to install Net framework 1.1 which might be incompatible with the Windows 7 system. I do not know that what is the problem so can you guys helps to install it as it is important for me.

I guess you are trying to install an older version of the .NET framework which might not be compatible with the latest version of the windows operating system. I suggest you to download the latest version of the .NET Framework which wont be having any such problem as it is much easier to install it as well.

It might also happen that you would be having an older version on your system which might be conflicting with the new version of the Windows 7 system. I suggest you to try to uninstall the .NET framework from your system properly then you may start installing the new one. As it wont be possible to start installing an another one when there is a same software partially installed on your system.

I have tried installing the 3.5 version of .NET Framework but it was not possible it was saying that i have to install it in order like first have to install .Net Framework 1.1 and then newer then that and so on. Is this a way in which i have to install .NET Framework? Please help me as i am not getting it from where to start and how to get .Net Framework on my win 7 machine.

If you want to install .NET Framework 1.1 on your Windows 7 computer then follow these steps.

1. Open Cleanup Tool to remove the failure installation of .NET Framework 1.1
2. Then download the same software along with the SP1 from the microsoft.com
3. Slipstream .NET Framework 1.1 and SP1 installer.
4. Now install the slipstreamed package.
5. Make sure that you are running an installer with an administrator privileges.
