Changing import settings when importing photos in Media Center

Hi, am using Windows 7 from last few months. Still not much familiar with its features and settings. At present, am in need of some help regarding its Medai Center import settings. I meant about importing Pictures or Videos from Camera or so.

I have a Canon camera and whenever i attach the same with my settings it starts importing pictures based on the present settings and won't allow to alter anything. Is there any way i can change the import settings of Windows 7 Media Center ? Help appreciated.

Yes off course you can modify the settings of your system while importing photos and video files your from cameras, USB drive, scanners, DVDs, etc.. These import settings decides these files are prepared at the time you import on your system. To do so, follow these steps:
    • First of all you need to attach the device device containing the photos or videos with your system.
    • Now click on “Import pictures and videos” from the AutoPlay dialog box.
    • To alter the settings you require, just tap on Import settings that are needed while importing pictures and videos, in the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box.
    • Modify the settings you need in this dialog box, and then click OK.

Under the Windows Photo Acquisition Registry, there are numerous subkeys. For instance, there is also a subkey named as "Camera and Portable Device". Now under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Photo Acquisition\Camera and Portable Device, if you alter the AcquisitionFlags value to 0x82, it appears to reinstate the import wizard to prompting you for a non-compulsory tag, and letting you to click on the "Import Settings" link once more.

In case you are unable to find a exact image, attempt to alter the means Media Center groups your pictures. You can do this by clicking Start Menu and go to All Programs and click on Windows Media Center. Now you need to scroll to Pictures + Videos, and click Library. Click Folders to sort folders and files alphabetically, click date for the snapshot files and sort files by date or click tags to sort the files by keywords that have been applied. Click on the image you want to view.

You can classify individual images to track your favorite pictures and view a special presentation of your best images. To do this:
    1. Open Windows Media Center and click on Photo Gallery.
    2. Right-click on an image file you want, then click the button ranking (five stars aligned) repeatedly until the desired rating.
    3. Click the Start button to go back to the home screen of Media Center, now scroll down to Pictures and Videos and finally click on Play Favorites.
    4. By default, Media Center uses the rankings to determine which images are your favorite pictures. To change the parameters favorite images on the startup screen of Media Center, scroll to Tasks, click Settings, Images, Images on favorite, make any desired changes, click Save.
