Skype Linux - Problem with Audio Playback

Hello,
I just installed Skype on Gutsy, and I have a concern. No way to make a call, I always answer: Call failed: problem with audio playback. With starting skype via terminal get some error message, which I have no idea about. So, can you please help me with this. Thank you.

I have the same error + A game with TeamSpeak, sound on the first roll. On after a conflict between application bat file to gain access to the sound card. (Snd_pcm_dmix_open) Unable to open slave, I'm looking how to activate the slave under alsa, but I have not found any help on this yet. If you have any information regarding the same, then please post back. Thanks in advance.

You have not left open amaork or other software?? closes everything and also skype and then open skype .. I too had this pb because I had left open rhythmbox . Amendment to the peripheral of your apps to see if anything is on alsa, you look on the side alsa-oss-Pulse Audio (hardy), Oss Avoid if possible.

I'm in Gutsy and I use the latest version of Skype. What you mean, I use KDE and not Gnome cons. It's good I understood what you meant, but it has nothing changed, cons in Skype instead of the default, I put my card on his first choice all the list, that is either for incoming and outgoing and no worries.
