Side-by-Side Configuration been incorrect application failed to execute

I have a desktop machine and it is been installed with Windows Vista. I have also installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 application to the system and the problem is that I am not able to work well with the thing well which would be better. Hope to get a better solution and make the things to work out as needed. Please help.
