angry Changing Default View In WORD 2007 "Open" Window?

I'm tired of everyday having to change the default view in WORD 2007 "Open" window to my preferred view with the horizontal (bottom) scroll. I have to do this with every folder I open everyday.

Can I just change the Default View somehow? If relevant, I have XP PRofessional operating system.

You can try to change the default view to Draft view in Word 2007, by following the below method:

    • Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Word Options.
    • Click Advanced.
    • Under General, click to select the Allow opening a document in Draft view check box.
    • Click OK.
    • On the View tab, click Draft in the Document Views group.

thank you, Einstein. Didn't work though. When click on "Open" in Windows 2007, I still have to adjust the view to have the horizontal (rather than vertical mixed up) view.

Anyone else have a lifeline here?

This simply means that your application is not saving your settings due to which you are not getting the same view. It will not work if you are opening up a new document everyday. But this should work if you are opening your same old documents that you have created before. By the way the option lies in the ribbon under View tab where you can tick the option and that remains save for your further documents.

Thanks, Santy. Maybe I didn't comprehend your instructions, but I did not find a "ribbon" under the "View" tab on either the "Open" Window "View" tab or the displayed WORD document "View" tab.

    I'm challenged here unfortunately.
