Yes there is a alternative for that. The name of tool is iStat. It is installed in System Preferences, this utility can be displayed in the menu bar much information on the activities of processors, the exchange network, the Mac's operating temperature, fan status, etc. First this application was free and now it is chargeable. iStat menus is transformed into a standard application, rather than continue to operate from System Preferences.

There are various tools for that. But for the same you might need to do some research so that you can figure out the exact feature of the same. The one which I know is Conky. It is a open source tool and free to use or else if you want to go for more advance version of the same then you can use iStat Pro. It is a chargeable tool but very well managed and the information is much accurate.

I am using iStat in my Mac system. But thi you can manage your entire system from your menu bar, with eight highly configurable menu extras, you can always see what is happening on your mac, design iStat took considerable time, so if you use it, The tool also includes calendars, clock, bluetooth function, a monitor for internet browsing and a dual display for controlling the temperature of your mac, and a option to gauge your battery.

If you want a concise tool with less hassle then MenuMeters is a simple tool. It is less dramatic and displays information on your Mac like a menu bar. Once installed, the software adds a new icon in System Preferences. You can add various indicators like processor, hard drive, memory and network in the form of small customizable icons and monitor your system as per your need.

For this I will recommend you Samurize. It is a tool for customizing Windows altogether surprising. By this you can keep an eye on many vital data such as available memory, CPU temperature, etc. All information is as desired by the user who has an advanced configuration tool to define the location and shape of a particular indicator. The tool is quiet easy to use also.

iStat is the best alternative for Rainmeter. You will get several widgets in that and the same can display information of the entire systems. Rainmeter is a tool for displaying the data systems of your computer. It can measure and display the rate of total load supported by your CPU at program launches. Rainmeter also calculates the traffic on your computer by indicating the data passing through your network. It also provides information on the available space on your hard drive.
