Unable to create the temporary folder. Error 183 when starting Distiller

I am using windows vista on my notebook and whenever i start my notebook i am getting an error which says that : "Unable to create the temporary folder Error: 183 - cannot create a file when that file already exists." The same error appears when i try to open Adobe Distiller 8 manually. About which file this software is giving an error.

I am having the same issue on my xp system since i have installed Adobe Acrobat on it. I do not as i have never used this software before but when did i tried to create a temp folder for this software and why it is giving such an error even if i am not running this application? Is there anybody who can solve this problem? I have got frustrated now by getting this error each time i am log on my pc.

I guess i have found the solution for the finding the temporary folder about which this software would be giving an error. Go to the Control Panel and then open System. Here you have to go in an Advance and then click on an Environment variables. Here you can see that on which Temp Folder it is pointing. Now you have to explore the same folder and then delete all the things from that folder.

I think you can get rid of this problem by reinstalling the software on your system. As there might be something went wrong while installing this software on your system. Do one thing reboot your system and then reinstall this software from the core and make sure that what locations are selected while installing it. Then do not forget to reboot again after completing installation.

I just do not believe that the solution for this Error 183 could be so simple. Actually i have found that folder where this Adobe Distiller is trying to create the new folder. The folder is called as an Adobe Distiller in Windows Temp directory. You just need to make some small changes as you have to give permissions to the users for this folder. Actually there was a restrictions for the users because of which it was not able to create new temp folder.

Thank you so much!!! I have done nothing with the settings as i have never changed any setting on my Adobe Distiller. But when i reinstalled this software then i guess it would be having all the default settings and here my problem got solved. Now i am not getting any error when my machine starts or at the time of launching the Distiller.
