Adobe reader crashes when opening, both local and from Firefox

I have installed Windows XP and also Firefox 3.6. Adobe 9.3 crashes on Firefox when I used to view a downloaded pdf. When I launch the Adobe reader from Windows "Start menu " it start with the Adobe ID screen then stops with without any effect or error message.

Adobe Reader 9.3 performed successfully . The issues starts happening after computer maintenance and wiping up the excess files and services running in the background. I don't have the issue with another programs. When the issue arises, I performed the uninstallation using Windows Add/Remove Program. Restarted and then reinstalled 9.3. but the same problem going in the way...I would be thankful to you if any help would be provided..

Can you provide me some additional information regarding this. If you feel that it is crashing then you got any error messaged and all or what ! In case, if you didn't got anything then you can provide me the logs during that moments when you are experiencing with the issue of crashing the application. As you stated that you are getting the problem from both of the sides means from local and browser. There is something going wrong with your application..Have you tried to perform the clean re-installation.. By the way, please provide me some additional information on the crash in the Event Viewer..

Re: Adobe reader crashes when opening, both local and from Firefox

When a running browser tab or browser window showing an Acrobat PDF document crashes and would not respond in proper manner, you can terminate that one tab or window without making any effect on your different opened tabs or windows. This is the workaround here, just go through this :

1- Commit a usual Ctrl-Alt-Delete and click Task Manager to come up with the Windows Task Manager
2- Click on the Processes tab, and search out the Acrobat Reader (I got it simplest to click the Image Name column titled to sort the list of processes alphabetically by image name) - it's identified as AcroRd32.exe
3- Highlight AcroRd32.exe, click End Process, and then Yes for confirmation.

All of the tabs or browser windows that were showing the Acrobat PDF documents will either close down, or go blank. That involves any PDFs that were in fact responding well.

Re: Adobe reader crashes when opening, both local and from Firefox

When I was doing the replacement of Adobe Reader 8 with the Reader 9 then the Adobe PDF plugin got freezes the browser (Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 7) after loading the PDF as a new one Tab. When I made disable the plugin within the Firefox then the Firefox does not freezes any more but the PDFs open in Adobe Reader out of the browser. I am running with the Windows XP SP3 and installed Adobe Reader German version. Please help me ??

Re: Adobe reader crashes when opening, both local and from Firefox

I am running with the same problem with the Firefox browser - I have installed the firerfox 3.0.5. Where as I have upgraded to Adobe Reader version 9, Firefox will not accep to load the PDF documents in the browser. Instead it shows an error dialog that tells :

"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser."
I have tried to find out the status of the installed plug-ins in the location "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\Browser" - nppdf32.dll - is the similar files which is stored within the browser's plug-ins folder storage - C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins. The files contains the same timestamp. it seems as there's a big issue with this plug-in..
