    Adobe reader without AIR

    Hello,
I was just wondering that is it possible to run adobe products or applications without installing air. I have no idea about it, specially I use adobe reader and I do not know that if air is pre installed or not. I wanted to know what is air and what is the role of it in adobe applications.

    Re: Adobe reader without AIR

This technology allows Adobe to develop rich Internet applications, compatible with Windows and Mac OS X. Developers can take advantage of it to their existing knowledge on technologies like Flash or Ajax to create applications that can be used from a web browser, but also directly on the desktop. The framework allows Adobe AIR applications to use these, some have already emerged, such asAdobe Media Player or eBay Desktop. The technology is still young but we can already realize the opportunities.

Adobe said they had reduced to 30% memory usage AIR applications running with this version of the runtime. The CPU load was also less strong when the applications are not solicited. This software can also access the microphone to the computer, the file manager system, they can mount and unmount volumes of the office, use printing resources and be distributed in the form of files .dmg (or. Exe file Windows).

Adobe AIR is a cross-operating system run time that enables you to use your existing HTML / Ajax, Flex, or Flash web development skills and tools to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. Adobe AIR applications support native desktop integration, including clipboard and drag-and-drop support, local file IO, system notification, and more.

    Re: Adobe reader without AIR

Since the launch of the software Adobe Air, there are many applications currently under development on this platform. The last application that was developed on Adobe Air is Google Reader. Readair is a software -based Adobe AIR utility that lets you launch Google Reader as a standalone application. As it is built on air, Readair works on Windows, Mac and Linux.
