error in outlook 2007 when attaching files

My outlook 2007 running on Vista crashes when i try to attach files especially from a flash disk with this error message:

Faulting application OUTLOOK.EXE, version 12.0.6212.1000, time stamp 0x46e03e45, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03824, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00031d62, process id 0x1278, application start time 0x01cb11e5b29a4865

my firefox is also crashing with this message from the same module:

I am also facing this same problem. I have searched any particular folder, no problem. Search accross folders - mail, contacts, calendar, tasks - crash, every time. Somebody from microsoft suggested to do the following:

Go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32

They said to rename "msacm.voxacm16" to "no.msacm.voxacm16". But that entry wasnt there, so I renamed msacm.voxacm160 to no.msacm.voxacm160. Refer to more information here.

thanks mate, but there is no such entry in my registry, only msacm.msgsm610, msacm.msg711, msacm.msadpcm.
how do you fix corrupt ntdlls

Well, if you want to passby your problem, you could simply drag and drop the files to attach onto the mail. Do you have any network drives mapped? If you have a drive mapped and the network to which it connects isn't available, the symptoms you describe are common. Refer here for more information.
