Getting maximum 30kbps download speed on uTorrent for large files

Please help me in solving this situation. I have recently downloaded utorrent on the computer and installed it on the computer. I downloaded some torrents for movies and loaded it on the uTorrent but the download speed is not going above 30kbps. The maximum download speed which I am getting is 30kbps and hence I want to know, how to increase the download speed of uTorrent? Any suggestions regarding the topic are more than welcome.

Have you installed any security softwares on the computer? All the security softwares have a basic tendency of blocking any unknown traffic which is originating or terminating on the computer. Hence it is possible that the security software installed on the computer is blocking the traffic on the computer. Disable the firewall or any security application which is installed on the computer and the check the download speed of the torrent.

Check the configuration of the uTorrent installed on the computer. uTorrent application has lot of features which help in limiting the the download and upload speed of the torrent. Open the uTorrent and then go to settings. In the configuration, check if the download speed is limited. Change the settings if required and save the settings. Restart the application and check if the download speed increases or not.

What is your Internet connection speed? The Internet speed which is specified and the speed which we get for downloading the files is different. You will not get the speed which is specified as the download speed. Download speed will always be lower than the specified speed but to be sure, you can visit the speedtest.net website and get the connection and download speed checked. Compare the download speed which you are getting with the test results.

Are you using Windows Vista on the computer? A lot of Windows Vista users have complaint about the slow download speed in uTorrent. The problem with Windows vista is that the Precache system of operating system has some problems which makes the torrents speed very slow. In order to solve this problem, you will have to use some other operating system than Windows Vista.

It is possible that the ISP has limited the connection for downloading the torrents. According to the new rules the ISP are able to monitor all the data which is downloaded on the computer using uTorrent client. Hence contact the ISP and be confirm about the status about limiting the torrent capacity.
