uTorrent suddenly not seeding any torrents

I am having a desktop computer which is running on Windows XP operating system. On this computer I have installed uTorrent version 1.8.5 which was working properly for all this time but suddenly today the uTorrent is not seeding any torrent. All the torrents are showing a red cross icon against all the torrents and hence I need your help. What can be the possible reason for such behavior of uTorrent? Please help.

First of all check if the network connection is available on the uTorrent or not. It is possible that the uTorrent is not able to connect to the remote server and hence network is not available on uTorrent. There is one network connectivity icon at the bottom of the uTorrent, check if the icon is dark green and showing status as connected. If the network is unavailable then there is nothing much you can do about it.

Sometimes the uTorrent application works weirdly due to which it will not seed any torrent. In such situation, force start for torrents work. To force start the download for the torrent, you will have to right click on the desired torrent and then select Force start. Now check if the torrent is getting downloaded or not. Hopefully the force start of torrent will work.

There is a high possibility that the uTorrent installed on the computer is not functioning properly and hence you are not able to download any torrent using it. It is possible that the some files of uTorrent are not working properly and hence you will have to reinstall the application. Reinstall the application and see if the problem is solved.

Torrent applications get easily infected with Virus's. If any of the file associated to the torrent application is infected, it will give rise to similar problems which you are facing. Scan the system and repair all the files which are infected. Once all the infected files are repaired, check if the utorrent is able to seed the files or not.

The version of uTorrent which you are using is very old and hence I suggest that you update the uTorrent. It is possible that the support for the older version of uTorrent is stopped and hence you are not able to download any torrents using the version installed on the computer. Updating the version will hopefully solve the problem.

Yes it really worked. I updated the version of uTorrent on the computer and now all the torrents are working properly. The version of uTorrent which was installed on the computer was outdated which was creating such problems. Updating the version of uTorrent solved the issue.
