Linux Tax software

Hello,
I know the last control program for Linux was Tax 2006. This is now no longer available. Tax 2007 is available for Linux but it has some compatibility problems. Is there a reasonable alternative with Elster interface? Or else if you know any other alternative software then please let me know.

As we receive our copy of "Click & Tax" new software for preparation of tax returns for individuals. My PC is running Ubuntu 7.10. Bad luck, the program supports RedHat and Suse.
Have you installed

java version "1.5.0"
gij (GNU libgcj) version 4.2.1 (Ubuntu 4.2.1-5ubuntu5)

If you have not installed then please do install it.

You must use the Java virtual machine from SUN. You need to install the following packages (the Multiverse repository):

sun-java6-bin : Sun Java ™ Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 (architecture dependent)
sun-java6-fonts : Lucida TrueType fonts
sun-java6-jre : Java ™ Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 (architecture independent)

You can use these commands it you are working on linux

update-java-alternatives

It is used as follows:

update-java-alternatives-s java-6-sun

I am trying to install java but java crashed, everything crashed regarding to java. So I uploaded the program on the township website instead of using the CD and received it works the first time. Am furious against the township that sends CDs rotten. If you have any other alternative for this then please let me know Or any other java version.
