    Php on FreeBSD 8.0

    Hello,
I am trying to install PHP on FreeBSD but unfortunately I am getting any error each time I try to install it. I have tried many different versions of PHP but no use. So, if you have any idea about it, then please let me know. Thanks in advance.

    FreeBSD 8.0 with PHP

    Hello,
I do have a similar kind of a problem , php-gtk2 is already not part of the package that is in the freebsd ports, then it's not a problem of how to install it is rather a compilation error resulting from file.c which apparently a problem with the functions defined in static. Any more help regarding this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
To find the port you can use the following

    Code:
    [someuser @ freebsd / usr / ports]> make search name = php-gtk2
    Port: php-gtk2-2.0.1
    Path: / usr/ports/x11-toolkits/php-gtk2
Info: An extension to use gtk2-applications in PHP
Knowing that the current version of PHP in the ports is 5.2.12 and it should soon move to 5.3.2.

    Hello,
The ports are (among others) changes to basics correct erroneous assumptions of the developers on the build environment (FreeBSD is not Linux). When reading the port's Makefile, we can see that patch the configure script, redefined and some environment variables CFLAGS for compilation on FreeBSD. If you must compile without going through the ports, you will have to do something similar.
