Re: How to add Mock Effect in an image

Tilt-shift technique is used by many photographers. It creates a blur unusual, vertical or horizontal, related to a significant reduction in the depth of field. The perception of the image is so radically changed the picture and then takes a very pronounced effect of model. This technique usually requires special lenses (toggle) which can cost several thousand euros.

Using a simple photo editor like PhotoFiltre or a free service on the Internet (TiltShiftMaker), you can do Tilt-Shift, and applying a model effect to your photos.

Re: How to add Mock Effect in an image

One thing to keep in mind if we get a curious effect, is to choose either the image, that is, using a photograph where there are many distant elements, thereby to perform the technique achieved a result of the most spectacular.
  • Then we go to the channels window and create a new alpha channel.
  • Then click in the Rectangular Marquee tool and make a selection of approximately half of the picture (the bottom of the rectangle shall be located where it will focus the sharp image).
  • Once you have created your selection, click on the Gradient Tool, with a linear array and draw a line from top to bottom, (if we keep the function Shift or Shift pressed, will form a straight line).
  • Then invert the selection (use Menu / Select / Invert), and re-draw a new line with the new gradient tool selection, this time from bottom to top. Finally remove the selection (for this function Ctrl + D).
  • The next step will be to make smaller the black line that we have formed, we will use levels. Open the levels window (Menu / Image / Levels) and adjust to the left of the center button of the input levels.
  • The more you move up to left center button, the finer will be the black line, producing the opposite effect if the right move (be careful not to remove the very fine demoted to leave, because then the effect could be too burst).
  • Once applied the levels return to the layers window and click on the original background layer, to apply a lens blur filter, (use Menu / Filter / Blur / Lens Blur.)
  • We see a new window with the characteristics of the lens blur, where we give you the settings that we like, taking into account a very important thing in the depth map, the Source must be the Alpha 1 channel we created earlier .
  • The result should be something like the image that we leave then.

Re: How to add Mock Effect in an image

In case of adding Mock Effect, use a photo with great detail and has plans that are distinct from each other. By combining different filters and effects, you can mimic the effect of Tilt-Shift with free software called PhotoFiltre. Here is how you can do that:
  1. Start PhotoFiltre .

  2. Click the File menu and then click Open.

  3. Select your hard drive your photo and click the Open button.

  4. Click the Settings menu and then Brightness / Contrast.

  5. Increase the contrast and then click OK.

  6. Then click the Settings menu and then Hue / Saturation.

  7. Increase saturation and click OK.

  8. Using the Lasso tool, select the topic to highlight.

  9. Click on the menu and then click Invert Selection.

  10. Click the Filter menu, then on Optical effect on Gaussian Blur.

  11. Choose a radius between 4 and 6 and click the OK button. The Preview button lets you see the result.

  12. Then click on the Select menu then Select All.

  13. Click the Filter menu, then click on Mitigation Feather. Repeat until the desired result.

  14. Save the file finally pull down the File menu and clicking Save As.

Re: How to add Mock Effect in an image

The technique can be performed in many ways with Photoshop, but we'll see one more, where the result is amazing and can not be done with a camera, as we will clarify only some parts of the picture, at different levels or distances of the composition. To do it with Photoshop follow this steps:

Open the image you want to try and duplicate the layer (use Menu / Layer / Duplicate Layer). We are placed on the duplicate layer above and apply a Gaussian blur filter, (use Menu / Filter / Blur / Gaussian Blur). A new window with the characteristics of Gaussian blur, where we can give different ratios of blur in pixels (we have put 2.3 pixels). Finally, select the Eraser tool and with the help of the magnifying glass by deleting the elements we want them to be clear, (keep in mind to choose a brush size in proportion to the size that you be removed, to not leave the item in question .) Thats it !!!

Re: How to add Mock Effect in an image

You can also do this online with TiltShiftMaker. It lets you apply an effect to mock your photos directly on the Internet without having to install software on your computer. If you wanna make it online than visit the site and click the Browse button. Select your hard drive your photo and click the Open button. Click Upload picture. Move the vertical slider to the right of the original photo to select the area to highlight. Move the cursor Focus Size to adjust the size of the area highlighted. Click Preview to preview the result to the right. Finally, click on the button Get full size to generate the final image with effect model. Click on the link to download Here and save it on your computer. Isn't it simple ?
