Nokia PC Suite for Linux OS ?

    Hello guys,

I am looking for the nokia Pc suit and are able to work on Linux as we can do in windows . I searched a lot about this but unable to get anything regarding this.

Do you know any other method to connect with my phone (Nokia 6060) to Linux so I can upload/download files to and from the phone? I really need it , and the suite works fine in Windows. Just hoped there was something similar in Linux.

    Thanks!

Nokia PC Suite for Linux OS ?

    Hi dear,

I have just visited on the nokia forums but not much helpful information regarding that issue. There are so many users have posted their questions but still not helpful information related to this. There is no any official response from nokia and they appear not to need to release a Linux version.

However, I visited on the following web site which have some open source software for mobiles as http://www.kmobiletools.org/ . I got something but it's not exactly the Nokia PC suit for Linux.

Nokia PC Suite for Linux OS ?

It can just be synchronization. There is another alternative here that you need to install the Windows version using Wine. All you have to do in install wine from the repository, and then choose exe file for Nokia's program same as you performed in Windows. The winehq website is not evaluating the proper response this morning so I can't check and see if anyone has reported an experience with the Nokia PC suite yet.

Nokia PC Suite for Linux OS ?

    I performed it on a nokia n80, n73, 6230, 7610, 6630 & 6680....

This is the procedure to do it...

Just connect your cell phone through data cable and open terminal and type the following :

    lsusb

Now issue this command with the appropriate vendor and Product ID that can be accessed from the output of above command -

    sudo /sbin/modprobe usbserial vendor=0x(vid) product=0x(pid)

Then after enter the following command -

    wvdialconf create
    sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf

The configuration file that generated recently can be used to configure all the changes of your connected device.
