mplayer vdpau

Hello,
I have a mplayer script with me and i try to compile it, but I get an following error
Code:
VDec: vo config request - 1280 x 720 (preferred colorspace: VC1 ADVANCED VDPAU acceleration)
VDec: using VC1 ADVANCED VDPAU acceleration as output csp (no 0)
Error at libvo/vo_vdpau.c:637
And when I try to compile it mplayer crashes. I think this might be the problem of the gcc version, though i am not sure of this. Any help regarding this is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: mplayer vdpau

Hello,
I have installed Debian GNU/Linux operating system, but I had a no luck with Debian regarding the mplayer player, the mplayer vdpau is not working on my Debian operating system, but I do not think that this is a operating system error, rather this is the software problem, I guess I am correct here. I think the mplayer / vdpau is in the development process, so I think there will be some problems regarding this. There will be some bugs I guess, but they will surely fix them.

Re: mplayer vdpau

Hello,
I think the problem is with the MPEG and H264, though I am not sure about this.
these are my experiences with mplayer
MPEG: - I think this uses 10% of the cpu usage and this is too much for it
- mplayer with vdpau and relative coded used about 3% cpu

H264: - normal mplayer used about 66% cpu
- mplayer with vpdau used 10%

I do not know if this are the statistics of all the user of mplayer, but this is what I get on my operating system.

Re: mplayer vdpau

Hello,
I think these are not the statics of all the user who are using the mplayer, rather i think mplayer with vdpau is great. If even this is the case with you, then you can try the MPEG-1/2 or H264, these both are great and runs very well on the linux based operating system. I thiknk the VC1 and the WMV3 are little buggy and opposite to them the H264 and MPEG-1/2 are status working. I hope this information will help you.

Re: mplayer vdpau

Hello,
I tried the VC1 and the WMV samples, the results are the same, so if you have any other alternative for this now then please let me know. Is that I have a problem with the linux operating system. i do not know exactly what is the problem, that is, Is this a problem with the operating system or is this is a problem with the software. If you can recommend me some more software's, then it would be great.
