Itunes home sharing not showing up

    Hi,

I have two computers with Windows, both Windows XP and iTunes 8. Both have shared home on, however, the main element Share menu does not appear in the sidebar on the left. What am I doing wrong? Why Itunes home sharing not showing up?

For the home sharing in iTunes at least two computers with the following system requirements are:

    * The computer must be on the same Wi-Fi or Ethernet network.
    * iTunes version 9 or higher must be used.
    * The home sharing must be enabled. Moreover, the same iTunes or App Store account will be used and the password is entered correctly.

For home sharing both computers via Ethernet or Wi-Fi with the same local network must be connected to display content from iTunes libraries that can be played back and imported. You can check whether the computers are in the same local network, by comparing the router's IP addresses in the network configuration. The router address consists of 4 numbers separated by dots.

the home sharing can be used on multiple computers, you must configure it on any computer. Also necessary for each home sharing the same iTunes or App Store account to be used. The home sharing can be used simultaneously on up to five computers. Furthermore, if you add another home sharing want to disable the home sharing for one or more computers in the iTunes Advanced menu.

If you've enabled for your router or computer has a firewall, make sure that these blocks communication between the individual computers. In home sharing is made through TCP port 3689 and UDP port 5353 to connect to other iTunes music. If the iTunes libraries identical content includes large scale, you should manually select only the songs you want to transfer.

The automatic transmission of iTunes Store content is disabled by default. So that content is automatically transferred between computers, click on a displayed home sharing on the "Settings" and select the content to be transferred. The automatic transmission affects only iTunes Store content that you download music after you activate the home sharing The automatic transmission affects only iTunes Store content that you download music after you activate the home sharing.
