| Re: All fields are not Updated in MS Word
This problem occurs because some fields are fields of "Show". This means you do not perform a calculation. These fields show an outcome even when they are not updated, and appear when you print the document. "Show" fields include AUTONUM, AUTONUMLGL, AUTONUMOUT, BARCODE and EQ. Some other fields are related to printing and pagination are updated only when you print or preview the document. These fields include DATE, TIME, PAGE, PAGEREF, PrintData, REF and SectionPages.

The fields are used as placeholders for data that might change in a document and create form letters and labels in mail merge documents. Some of the most common fields are PAGE, which is inserted to add page numbers, and DATE, which is inserted when you click the date and time on the Insert menu and then select the Update automatically check box. Fields are inserted automatically when creating an index or table of contents using the Index and Tables command on the Insert menu. You can also use fields to automatically insert document information (as the author or file name) to perform calculations, to create links and references to other documents or materials and performing other special tasks. |

Field codes appear in brackets or braces ({}). To display the results of the field codes (as the results of calculations), hide the field codes (click Options on the Tools menu, click the View tab and then clear the check box field codes) . The fields are similar to formulas in Microsoft Excel, the field code is like the formula and the result of the field as the value generated by formula. The following fields are automatically updated :
