Hi,
I am already using Silverlight 3. I have heard the release of Silverlight 4 , Microsoft will publish the final version of its new execution engine line, Silverlight 4. I want to know about the new features included in Silverlight 4 ???
Silverlight 4 allows web browsers for Windows and Mac OS X to run rich Internet applications (RIA). The new version now downloadable version almost final RC for Windows and Mac OS X, will principally provide better support for client resources. These include the ability to print, capture images through a webcam, open and save files on local disk and even run applications outside the browser window.
Silverlight 4 has three advantages. It produces smaller applications as if they were compiled for the host OS, since part of the code is executed on the server. He then dresses them with a more attractive interface than web applications, especially as it is now up to support graphics acceleration client. Finally, it now allows nomads to continue to run their application from a mobile phone.
SilverLight 4 : New Features include :
- Printing Support
- Design implication
- Support WebCam / Microphone
- RichTextArea Control
- Events right mouse button
- Access to the Clipboard
- Support UDP / multicast network
- Hosting Silverlight in HTML 4
- Brush HTML
- Access to Local Files
- ViewBox
- Support for Google Chrome
This edition is for developers. Therefore, it is more a programmers expected to become familiar with it and give us their reactions. Similarly, it has been made available to an execution engine that allows users or applications developed are put into production. One of the most requested features is able to print on the client computer instead of forcing the developer to do on the server. In 4 we create a Silverlight interface that the programmer can extend and which includes the facility to print a simple visual hierarchy as an adaptable model that allows creation of virtual hierarchies that the user can print directly.
It supports mouse wheel. Previously it was necessary to use auxiliary classes belonging to DeepZoom or similar to use the mouse scroll wheel in controls such as ListBox and so on. But now we have provided functions to handle events MouseWheel. And you can respond to from other components apart from ListBox.
