Usually i have to type a very long documents in which i had to give references of the line numbers to avoid confusion previously i use to get this by dfefault in the task bar but in word 2010 i cannot see the line number on the task bar. |

Try to follow the steps which i have mentioned below in order to get the line number displayed on the task bar. * Select the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon and click the line number button. * Now select Line Numbering Options * Check on the Line Numbers button. * Also check the Add Line Number checkbox. * Apply these settings and you are done. |

As far as i know and i have used the office 2010 beta software. The line number on which your cursor is present is displayed automatically on the status bar near the bottom of the screen and above the task bar which is named as Ln for instance if you are on the 15th line then it will be displayed as Ln 15. |

You can get the line number displayed on the status bar simply rightclicking on the status bar when you click on the status bar it will open a new pop up menu which will help you to customize the Status bar such that the line number will be displayed on the status bar. Hope this will help you for sure. |

| Re: Getting line number in office 2010 beta
The line number should be displayed on the task bar by default on the status bar if you are using an office 2010 beta program. If you are not getting this it must be due to the installation of some add-ins and hence to get the line number feature back you need to disable those add-ins from the application. |
